N4 Solutions Digs Deep for African Charity
Global information services company opens drinking well in rural Uganda
N4 Solutions, an Experian Company has opened a community well in Gulu,
Uganda, which will provide 2,700 people with access to clean drinking water.
Working with the UK-based charity African Revival, N4 Solutions, one of
the UK's leading providers of multi-channel distribution and fulfilment
technology for mortgages and wealth management, has funded the sinking of a
borehole for the Cubu Primary School Water Project. The project will provide
local people and 800 school children with clean drinking water. This
investment is part of African Revival’s ongoing commitment to help local
communities build a better future in Northern Uganda.
The well was opened by prize winners from the Council of Mortgage Lenders’
Annual Conference, which was sponsored by N4 in December 2007. The lucky
winner was Tim Hanton, Credit Systems Manager at GMAC RFC Ltd, who was
accompanied by his wife, Vicky Hanton and Steve Jones, MD of N4 Solutions.
"This trip wasn’t the normal holiday prize of a week at Disney," said Tim
Hanton. "It was certainly a life changing experience and at the same time
very humbling to see the impact that the well will have on the local
community in what has been a war torn area of Uganda, until very recently."
Steve Jones, Managing Director of N4 added: "It was great to see this project
through to fruition, witnessing firsthand the benefits the well will offer
both the school and the whole community. We have a strong corporate CSR
programme and this project supports our overarching strategy. It’s a great
opportunity for us to make a difference, as well as include our business
partners in this charitable venture."
N4 has a strong history of charitable work, receiving The Gold Award for
philanthropy from the Home Secretary in 2006 and 2007 for its successful
fundraising for UK charities through Payroll Giving. It has supported a
number of initiatives both at home and overseas.
